Fire Suppression and Technology

Okay, so this is something I continually rail against with companies and their fire based suppression systems.

It doesn’t matter if it is your production server area, test server area, development server area or not … a water based suppression system in those areas is extremely detrimental not just to the equipment in that area but to your business as well. The “what if’s” are astonishing … for instance let’s look at Texas DOT’s recent issue:

or how about

Please re-think your fire suppression systems in your server/network equipment areas!!

Yes, a dry system is expensive, but think what could happen to your business in the case of a wet system failure.
